Snow Babies!

We just got back from a snow trip with Steve's brother and sister-in-law and their 4 kids to North Lake Tahoe. It was very fun and relaxing. This was Andrew's first snow and Emma's second. Emma liked it, especially making snow angels and sledding down the hill. Drew didn't really care, except for the time Steve accidentally tipped him out of the sled and he face planted into a pile of snow. The snow was very fluffy, not good snowman weather but we still had a lot of fun sledding and making snow piles. Enjoy the pics!

If you haven't seen the new kitchen pics, keep scrolling down!

Kitchen Chaos Part 2

They are finally here!! The photos you have all been waiting for on pins and needles, I'm sure... So keep in mind that we haven't done any touch up painting and that we are going to eventually paint the walls a darker taupe-tan color to help the granite "pop" even more. But you get the idea of the new look from the pics. I tried to get the clearest pics as possible but the lighting isn't very good. So imagine things looking a little brighter than the pics show.

This is the granite. The base color is a creamy color with tans and browns in the veining as well as some quartz and gold glitz (just a little).

We decided to do a full wall back splash since the tile did a great deal of damage to the wall and the side of the cabinet. I wasn't sure I would like it but I really do and it is easy to clean.

Here is the best shot I could get of the kitchen. There is another counter on the right side that you can't see, next to our fridge. Some day we will have bar stools (once the kids are older).

This is what used to be the wet bar. We took out the sink and just did one counter. It is by the garage door and is a perfect landing zone for keys, mail, etc...

My new, big sink and faucet!!! A dishwasher's dream, right Steve? (he's the washer in our family)

This photo is to show the size of the sink. This is my largest skillet. It lays flat with room on all sides and is very deep in the sink. I can stack a few days dishes in the sink and no one is the wiser...of course, that is until you go and look in the sink...

We are very pleased with the results and proud of the fact that we did at least a little of the work ourselves.

Kitchen counter photos coming...

Hi all. I am having trouble with the blog site tonight. It won't upload my pics. We are trying to pack to go to Tahoe tomorrow so I don't have time to mess with it. When we get back, I will try again. Sorry this is taking so long. The pics won't be up before Monday, so you can check back then and see if I got it working...
Pray for us!! Both kids are sick and we are going to the snow. It is supposed to storm a little and we are total novices. Hopefully we won't get stuck on the freeway!

A bad day

Have you ever had one of those days when the slightest thing could send you into a frenzy of tears and you know you aren't pregnant or PMSing? That is my day. It is the fault of my van which we have spent over $5000 in the last month and a half. The dumb check engine light came on while I was on Ygnacio Valley road (a busy freeway-like road where you don't want to have car problems) and I had left my cell phone at home. Thank the Lord we got home but I was TICKED!!!!! Steve and I have not one healthy car that I would feel okay driving my kids in and we are supposed to go to Tahoe next weekend. I have had it and all I want to do is lock myself in my room and cry while eating M&M's. I lost it while telling Steve about it and I am sure that made him feel great! It's not his fault. So I have called in a favor with a friend who is a mechanic. I hope that works out...we have no more money for car repairs, Lord! So this is up to You. Please fix it or sell it because I can't deal with it any more! Now I am going to go cry again and feel bad about demanding something from the Lord. Where are those M&M's?
