My Favorite Things

I NEVER watch Oprah (almost). i think I might see 2-3 episodes a year but I always catch her "Favorite Things" episode where she gives thousands of dollars of merchandise to every one in the studio audience. To her credit, she stacks the audience on that day with deserving folks and they don't know it until the show begins. Well, of course Oprah's favorite things are all incredibly expensive! A $25 brownie? Are you kidding me? So I thought I would compile a list of a few of my favorite things that are either free or very cheap in contrast to Oprah's.
1. A hot shower 2 days in a row!
2. One day without a runny nose (my kids' noses of course)
3. A well powered hair dryer
4. Both kids down for naps at the same time
5. M & M's
6. A long back massage with no expectations
7. Bear hugs from Emma
8. Hearing Emma sing worship songs LOUDLY in Safeway
9. Burping at the table as a family!
10. Breakfast for dinner
11. Take-out
12. Telephone headsets
13. Swiffer Wet Jet
14. Payless Shoe Source
15. Going to Target WITHOUT the kids
16. Shopping anywhere WITHOUT the kids!
17. Andrew and Emma giving each other the giggles
18. Christmas lights
19. I never thought I'd say it...a nice quality, pre-lit fake christmas tree!

I could go on and on...
The best things in life are in front of my face!

What Am I Doing?

I just told Steve that I was starting a blog and he just shook his head. I am kinda shaking my head too! I decided to do this to keep in touch with my far away friends who don't get to see or hear much about my busy life and I am hoping that they will in turn respond to some of the postings or even be bloggers themselves. For my nearby friends, this is a chance for you to spy on me and maybe even learn more about me as I ramble on about what the voices are saying in my head. I am a very social (maybe too social) person and so this seems like a perfect outlet for my jabber. My hope is that this isn't "ALL ABOUT ME!" but that I get a chance to grow from expressing my thoughts "outloud" and hearing from my friends. I hope to be challenged in areas that I need help, laugh with others, learn new recipes, share kid stories, and just blurt out how I am feeling every once in a while to my sisters.

I really hope that others I know will start a Blog and we can share pics and stories together. The only blogger I know right now is the one who introduce me to this...Krista Gaff! Hi Krista! I can at least count on one person to read this occasionally and make comments...Krista and I are ex-cons...before you freak out, that means ex-Continental Singers, a touring singing group, the same one where I met Steve.

Okay...I am official...so let the chatter begin!
